What to Expect
COMPREHENSIVE EVAULATION
During the initial evaluation, Nancy reviews your child’s developmental history, observes movement patterns, assesses motor skills, and identifies areas of strength as well as opportunities for growth. She looks beyond the presenting concern to understand the whole child and determine the best path forward.
PERSONALIZED TREATMENT PLAN
Following the evaluation, Nancy develops an individualized plan based on your child’s specific needs and goals. Treatment may include hands-on therapy, movement-based activities, parent education, and strategies to support progress outside of sessions.
ONGOING GUIDANCE & SUPPORT
Nancy partners with families throughout the treatment process, providing education and practical tools to help support continued development at home. When appropriate, she also collaborates with physicians and other specialists to ensure your child receives comprehensive care.
Specialized SPML Rehabilitation
Selective Percutaneous Myofascial Lengthening (SPML) is a minimally invasive surgical procedure performed under anesthesia that uses a small instrument to make targeted releases beneath the skin. By carefully lengthening tight muscles and fascia, often in areas such as the hamstrings and calf muscles, SPML can help improve mobility, reduce restrictions, and support more functional movement for children with conditions such as cerebral palsy.
Nancy is among the few pediatric physical therapists to have trained directly with the inventor of SPML and observed the procedure firsthand in the operating room, giving her an exceptional understanding of both the surgery and the rehabilitation that follows.
For more than 25 years, she has worked closely with families and surgeons to help children maximize their outcomes and has introduced SPML rehabilitation concepts to the Feldenkrais® and Anat Baniel Method® communities through education and professional training.
